English Club
Our English Club CCA aims to excite students about learning and appreciating the English language through interesting and engaging activities in a fun environment.
Our objectives are:
- To provide ample opportunities for students to use the English language purposefully.
- To cultivate the love of the English language through storytelling and drama.
- To develop confident speakers, effective communicators and creative thinkers.
Our CCA activities frequently involve group work, helping students practice graciousness and respect during discussions. They also develop a sense of care, offering support and encouragement to their peers. Furthermore, activities such as writing drama scripts and creating news reports with the Moo-V app on iPads foster innovation, encouraging students to think critically and explore effective ways to communicate their ideas to others.
Moreover, our club provides ample opportunities for beyond-school learning. Students get to participate in school events and external competitions/ programmes - e.g. Inter-School National Scrabble Championship (ISNSC), YMCA-Plain English Speaking Award (PESA), ACJC Mythos (Junior Orators) Competition and Moo-O Digital Storytelling Competition amongst many others.
