Wushu
Wushu, a form of Chinese martial arts with a history stretching back over 6,000 years, offers students at Chongfu School an invaluable opportunity to develop both physically and mentally.
Through Wushu, students learn not only traditional movements like Chinese Taijiquan but also the use of weapons such as the sword, spear, and cudgel. These skills are taught progressively, starting with the basic movements and advancing to more complex routines.
Beyond the physical techniques, Wushu provides a foundation for character building. Students develop qualities such as focus, perseverance and respect, which align closely with the school’s values of being ‘Gracious, Respectful, Caring, and Sincere’. Wushu also encourages students to be ‘Observant and Innovative’, as they are taught to adapt and refine their movements, constantly striving for improvement.
From Primary 3 onwards, selected students have the chance to represent Chongfu School in the National Wushu Championships. This experience not only hones their martial arts abilities but also promotes teamwork, unity, and achievement. It is through such opportunities that students build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of responsibility, contributing to their overall personal growth and success.
